How to Measure Your Child for the Perfect Fit

Getting accurate measurements is the easiest way to ensure a great fit — and happy little ones! Follow these simple steps before selecting a size.

Clothing Sizing

Garments fit true to size. If your child is between sizes and below or above the average size for his or her age we recommend purchasing a smaller size or the next size up for the perfect fit.

Take the following measurements using a soft measuring tape: measure your child's chest, waist, and height with your child standing straight.

• Chest — measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor
• Waist — measure around the natural waistline, just above the belly button
  
• Height — measure from the top of the head to the floor without shoes

Old-Fashioned Pencil & Paper

Don't have a printer, the old-fashioned paper and pencil technique is a quick and simple way to measure your child's foot. Simply, draw a line from the heel to their little big toe. Using a ruler or measuring tape, have your child stand on a flat surface and measure from the back of the heel to the tip of the longest toe in centimeters or inches. For the best fit, we recommend measuring both feet and using the larger measurement. If your child falls between sizes, we suggest sizing up for growing room and added comfort.
